An infrared sauna creates radiant heat, known as conversion heat. The heat is transferred to the body without having to heat the ambient air to the same temperature. A full spectrum sauna offers the greatest benefit as it includes near, middle, and far infrared energy. Radiant heat is not the same as UV radiation from the sun. The hot dry air of an infrared sauna allows the body to create more sweat. A full spectrum sauna is able to penetrate 1.5 inches or more to produce 2-3 times the sweat of a traditional sauna and remove 15-20% more toxins at a lower temperature. Chromotherapy is part of the sauna and is based on the science of colored light positively effecting various neurohormones to balance energy.
